Hello James,

Yes indeed, Q2ID will convert multiple language files (good question though, we get asked that often.). We only have some issue with 2-byte character languages (Chinese, Arabic, etc), but even then, the layout converts fine. So yes, Q2ID will open any western language document and convert the entire design layout for you with one click! (As will Publisher to InDesign- PUB2ID and ID2Q or InDesign to Quark, the  other way around, btw.)

Zevrix is known for their Adobe Plugin to preflight InDesign files called InPreflight, similar to the built-in function within the CS4 only version itself (Live Preflighting) which Adobe offers. We call that process more a midflight check, as opposed to a preflight on your native files or artwork. And certainly not a postflight on a PDF or processed document. So it was with interest that we read this about a new automated solution from this software developer for that postflight process:

We are working hard on new features and functions for our preflight and conversion software and as such, are always glad to share other customer experiences, including with QXP, Adobe InDesign CS3 and Adobe InDesign CS4 (preflight a file without InDesign missing quality control checkpoints). Hallo ik ben Arnold Roosch van Markzware, de makers van conversie en controlesoftware voor de grafische industrie. En welkom bij deze video over onze Q2ID Quark to InDesign conversie-tool.

Ik zal u nu laten zien hoe gemakkelijk het is een QuarkXpress document naar InDesign te converteren door gebruik te maken van onze Q2ID conversie-tool.

Dus dit is het originele QuarkXpress document, we zullen het later nogmaals openen om te zien hoe accuraat de conversie is geweest.

Laten we Adobe InDesign openen, hou in gedachten dat Q2ID werkt als een plug-in voor CS3 of CS4 het is beschikbaar voor macintosh en Windows en echt heel gemakkelijk te installeren.

Zoals u kunt zien is er een markzware pull-down menu toegevoegd aan de menu bar deze leid u gemakkelijk naar Q2ID functie. Selecteer, converteer QuarkXpress document en kies daarna een QuarkXpress project dat zal worden geconverteerd naar InDesign in enkele secondes.

Markzware Q2ID opent Quark documenten gemaakt in versie 3 tot en met versie 8.
